Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA)
The Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) is an international organization for families who own and enjoy the recreational use of motor homes. With more than 100,000 active member families, FMCA is the world's largest motor home owners group. Since 1963 FMCA has issued more than 400,000 memberships to families who look to the association as their source of information about all facets of motor home ownership and travel. Foremost, and irreplaceable, are the fun and friendship shared by people who enjoy the common interest of motor home travel. The Association is rich in the tradition of FMCA members extending hands of genuine friendship to one another.
South Texas Renegades Chapter (STR)

South Texas Renegades (STR) is in the South Central Region of the Family Motor Coach Association . There are 10 regions in all. The area associations are designed to promote communication between FMCA and all chapters within the areas.
As motor-coachers we love to travel, see the country, enjoy nature and visit with all of the wonderful people we meet along the way.
The South Texas Renegades rally schedule includes nine rallies per year held the weekend in which the second Friday of each month occurs, omitting June, July and December. Rallies are held within a 250-mile radius of Houston. Club membership consists of 79 member coaches with a mix of people still involved in the working world and retirees.
We are an active group of people who enjoy visiting with each other, sight-seeing, shopping at rally areas, playing games such as Poker, Pegs and Jokers, Farkel, etc. and sharing of RV maintenance/troubleshooting ideas and topics.
Food, of course, is a big part of each rally with a Thursday night supper, Friday morning breakfast, Friday evening supper, Saturday morning breakfast and Saturday evening supper included in the rally fee. On Friday's we have a Red Hat/Romeo (Romeo - Retired Old Men Eating Out) lunch at an area restaurant. That's right - we gals include our sweethearts in the fun.
Typically rally participants number from 20 to 40 coaches thereby allowing all members to socialize and become better acquainted with each other. For 2012 our rally locations include Elmendorf (San Antonio), Gladewater, Stonewall, The Woodlands, Kerrville, Montgomery, Ingram and Bandera. All locations offer a variety of interesting things to do including tourist attractions, local history, shopping or just relaxing. Many members arrive by Monday or Tuesday before a rally making it a rally week instead of just a rally weekend. Early arrivals enjoy visiting and going out together to area restaurants.
We invite you to come join us or just to visit if you are passing through an area where we have a rally scheduled. Rally dates are listed, along with contact information, in the Association Calendar section of Family Motor Coaching magazine and on the FMCA website.

Our next gathering will be at the Johnson Creek RV & Resort on May 9,10, and 11. Linda and I hope to see a great turnout for this second outing of the new year.
Wagonmasters for May are Joel and Mary , assisted by the Ferguson's and the Ellerbrocks. Check out the April Newsletter for details and a sign-up form for the rally.
